As Educators, parents and socially responsible people, we should work hard at changing gender norms which determine discriminatory mind-sets and gender roles. So let us all see this is a first step in working really hard at achieving gender equality in India. I would really like to see more men writing for our campaign There is very little representation even now. Thanks for your blog Vikas! More men need to understand that this is a human rights issue, not a women’s issue!! We are all impacted and we should all feel responsible about changing things!

Such is the nature of Indian society where no generalization could apply to its various regional, religious, social and economic groups. Unfortunately, the status of women too is seen fluctuating between extreme levels.
